PRIVACY POLICY

Privacy Policy

Effective June 25, 2026
THE SHORT VERSION
We collect the minimum we need to build your plan and we never sell your data. We don't ask for your SSN, bank login, or card number; the one-shot tools don't save what you paste or upload; and the companies and plan you save are yours to delete anytime. When you use an AI feature, what you submit is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate your answer. The details are below.

1. Our approach

Okay, Next is operated by Okay, Next LLC, a California limited liability company (“we,” “us”). We collect the minimum we need to build your plan, and we're deliberate about what we don't collect. We don't sell your personal information.

2. What we collect

Account: your email and password (optional: you can use the app as a guest, in which case your data stays in your browser until you create an account).
Your situation: your location (city/state or ZIP), layoff date, and the priorities you choose. You can type your location, or tap Use my location — see the device-location note below.
Your progress: which plan steps you complete, deadlines we calculate from your dates, and your weekly check-in answers.
Your job search: the applications you log, including the company name, role, status, and your notes.
Exit survey: your outcome and, only if you opt in, a testimonial.
AI features: the text you submit to a tool (intake answers, and what you paste in or upload, such as a resume) and any outputs you save.
Feedback you send us.
Device location (optional): if you tap Use my location, we ask your device for location permission and use its location services to look up your city or ZIP. We store only the resulting city/ZIP, not your precise coordinates, and you can always type your location instead.
Usage analytics: first-party, in-app events — such as the pages you view, the features and tools you use, and checkout steps — recorded in our own database so we can measure and improve the product. These are linked to your account when you're signed in. We don't use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
Technical: standard logs (such as IP and device/browser) from our hosting and error-monitoring providers.

3. What we don't collect, and what stays one-shot

We never ask for your Social Security number, bank login, or card number. Payments go through Stripe; we never see or store your full card details.
The one-shot AI tools (resume helper, job-posting analyzer, salary research) process what you paste or upload to give you an answer and don't save it to your account. Uploaded files are read in your browser; only the text is sent on, and the file itself never reaches our servers.
The companies, roles, plan, and check-ins you save are stored in your account so the app works for you, and they're deleted when you delete your account (see Section 8).
If document analysis ever launches, documents would be processed and then immediately deleted, not stored.

4. How we use information

To create and adapt your plan; calculate your deadlines and runway; provide the AI features; process payments; send you service messages and (only if reminders are on) deadline reminders; respond to your feedback; keep the service secure and measure and improve it (using the first-party analytics described above); and comply with the law.

5. AI processing

When you use an AI feature, the text you submit is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to generate a response. Under Anthropic's commercial API terms, your inputs are not used to train their models and are retained only briefly to operate the service and for safety.
By using an AI feature, you consent to this processing. Please don't submit other people's confidential information.

6. Service providers (subprocessors)

Supabase: accounts, database, and backend functions.
Stripe: payment processing (we don't receive or store full card details).
Anthropic: AI processing of the inputs you submit.
Vercel: web hosting and content delivery.
Resend: sending email (such as deadline reminders).
Sentry: error monitoring (we scrub the text you enter before it's sent).
Ticketmaster / Eventbrite: event listings for the optional local-events feature.
We require providers to protect your information and use it only to provide their service to us.

7. Cookies & local storage

We use local/browser storage to keep you signed in and to hold guest progress. We don't use third-party advertising cookies.

8. Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your plan and account at any time in Settings, after which we delete or anonymize your data, except where we're legally required to keep something (for example, payment records).

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to opt out of certain processing.
California (CCPA/CPRA): you can request access to or deletion of your data, and you have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
To exercise any right, use the delete option in Settings or email hello@okaynext.app.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

11. Children

The service isn't directed to anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

12. Changes

We'll post changes here and update the effective date above; for material changes we'll let you know in the app or by email where appropriate.
