TERMS OF SERVICE

Terms of Service

Effective June 9, 2026
THE SHORT VERSION
Okay, Next is information and tools to help after a layoff, not legal, financial, tax, or medical advice. You're responsible for your own decisions, AI output can be wrong so check anything important, paid plans auto-renew until you cancel (cancel anytime, no refunds for partial periods), and the service is provided “as is.” The full terms are below.

1. What Okay, Next is, and isn't

Okay, Next is an information and planning tool for people navigating a job loss, operated by Okay, Next LLC, a California limited liability company (“Okay, Next,” “we,” or “us”). We provide general information, checklists, planning calculators, and AI-assisted drafting and research tools.
We are not a law firm, financial advisor, tax advisor, accountant, or medical or mental-health provider, and we do not provide legal, financial, tax, or medical advice. Nothing in the app, including any AI-generated output, is a substitute for advice from a qualified professional licensed where you live. You are solely responsible for the decisions you make. For advice about your specific situation, consult a licensed professional.

2. Who can use it

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to use Okay, Next.

3. Accounts

You can start as a guest; guest data is stored locally in your browser and may be lost. Creating an account (email + password) lets you save and recover your plan.
You are responsible for your account credentials and for activity under your account. Keep your password secure and tell us if you notice unauthorized use.

4. AI features

Some features use a third-party AI provider (currently Anthropic's Claude) to generate drafts, estimates, and research. AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date, and is for informational purposes only. Verify anything important against authoritative sources (which we link where we can) and a qualified professional.
Don't submit other people's confidential information. See the Privacy Policy for how AI inputs are handled.

5. Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation

Paid plans (currently Monthly, 90-Day, and Annual) are billed through Stripe. Before you pay, the checkout page shows the price and the renewal schedule.
Auto-renewal: paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price, and we charge your payment method on file, until you cancel. For annual plans, we'll email you a reminder before the plan renews.
Cancel anytime: you can cancel in the app's Settings or by emailing hello@okaynext.app. When you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for, and it won't renew again.
Refunds: payments are non-refundable, including for partial billing periods, except where a refund is required by law. If you think you were charged in error, email hello@okaynext.app and we'll look into it.

6. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the service: no unlawful use, no attempts to breach security or scrape at scale, no uploading others' confidential or unlawful content, and no reselling or reverse-engineering the service.

7. Your content

You keep ownership of the information you enter. You grant us a limited license to process it so we can operate and improve the service (see the Privacy Policy). You're responsible for the accuracy and legality of what you submit.

8. Third-party links and resources

We link to government and third-party resources (for example, the Department of Labor, HealthCare.gov, the EEOC, and the 988 Lifeline). We don't control and aren't responsible for third-party sites or services.

9. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don't warrant that the information or any AI output is accurate, complete, or current, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Okay, Next will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the service.
Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) US $100. Some places don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this may not apply to you.

11. Indemnification

You agree to defend and indemnify Okay, Next from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of another person.

12. Changes

We may update the service and these Terms. If we make a material change, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app or by email. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Termination

We may suspend or end access for violations of these Terms. You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time.

14. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The state and federal courts located in California will have jurisdiction over any dispute not resolved informally or in small-claims court.
Before starting any formal dispute, you agree to first contact us at hello@okaynext.app so we can try to resolve it informally. This doesn't stop either of us from seeking relief in small-claims court.

15. If you're in crisis

If you are in crisis, contact emergency services (911 in the US) or the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Okay, Next is not an emergency or crisis service.
